Maryann CampoREPUBLICAN LOBBYIST 612-750-2277

Her face has been a fixture at the State Capitol for nearly two decades, earning accolades from clients and lawmakers alike. Maryann Campo was a Republican Candidate for State Senator in 1990 and has lobbied since the 1991 session. She has built a reputation as a tireless worker and one of the state’s top lobbyists.

On January 20, 2010, Maryann was named by City Pages as one of The 10 Most Influential Lobbyists in Minnesota. Her unique style earned her the title “The Black Widow” by one Senator, according to the same City Pages story. The dubious status is something she considers a compliment representing her tenacity and willingness to fight to the end for the legislation affecting her clients.

Maryann Campo is considered a driving force at the Capitol, and has been recognized on many occasions as one of the best lobbyists in Minnesota by The Minneapolis Star-Tribune and St. Paul Legal Ledger (now called The Capitol Report).

“…love her or loathe her, lawmakers agree there’s something about Maryann”

“During her 19 years as a contract lobbyist, Campo (The Black Widow) has garnered the distinction of being the most relentless and direct advocate prowling the Capitol corridors. Whether they love her or loathe her, lawmakers agree there’s something about Maryann.”

“You know she’s always there. She is persistent, and doesn’t give up until the final rap of the gavel.”

“You know she’s always there. She is persistent, and doesn’t give up until the final rap of the gavel. But I find her friendly in her disagreements. She is very loyal, on both a party and friendship basis.”
